Israel-Palestine
Palestinian leaders say they have handed over the bullet that killed Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh to US authorities for forensic tests, adding that they were promised the Israel government would not be involved. Probes from Al Jazeera, the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN and AP - as well as eyewitness accounts from journalists on the scene - have indicated that the iconic Palestinian journalist was killed by an Israeli soldier.

Ethiopia
One of the best journalists in the world has died. Tsegaye Tadesse, who was 92, was not widely known internationally having worked quietly in Ethiopia for half a century. He was also a mentor and father figure to me when I was a young correspondent in Ethiopia and I was honored today to be asked to write an obituary for Reuters, the news agency to which he dedicated 35 years of his life.
