Dear all,
As you’ll have likely noticed, the frequency of Proximities has steadily diminished recently and there now hasn’t been an edition for more than a month.
This newsletter was always a hobby - a passion project - that I wrote in my free time. Unfortunately, other commitments have gradually made me too busy to give it the effort it deserves, particularly given its loyal and engaged audience.
So, for now, I’m putting it on hiatus.
Thank you so much for all your support. Writing Proximities has been more rewarding than I could have imagined when my frustration over important non-Western news stories not figuring often enough in international media led to me setting up a newsletter that was initially only circulated to close friends.
So please, when you see those stories, keep sharing them. Email them to your friends, tweet them, and talk about them at the office. Bear witness to more than what is happening in London or Washington, Boston or Berlin. There’s a whole world out there.
You can keep in touch with me on Twitter here.
And, if I may, could I ask you to stay subscribed? If I can free up some time in the future, I may return to Proximities or bring it back in another form.
With sincere thanks for reading,
Barry.
