Africa-India
Disturbing reports are emerging from the Polish border that Africans and Indians living in Ukraine are being prevented from crossing, and that several are being assaulted. Footage on social media appeared to show Ukrainian officials stopping Africans and Indians from boarding trains. “Are you doing this because we’re Black?” one man can be heard shouting. The Indian government has now launched an effort - Operation Ganga - to step in and evacuate its own citizens from the country.

North Korea
North Korea today launched a ballistic missile into the ocean in its eighth missile test this year. Analysts say that Pyongyang is trying to gain leverage with the tests should talks with its foes, South Korea and the US, restart. Others, though, have suggested it may try to perfect its weapons tech while the world is preoccupied with Ukraine.

Middle East
Many people - mostly from the Middle East and Africa - have accused the Western media of hypocrisy for the manner in which they are covering the war in Ukraine. Several have pointed out what appears to be a racist undertone to much of the commentary. Correspondents have repeatedly said that what is happening in Ukraine is shocking because the people affected look “like us” or are not from Syria or Afghanistan. Others have drawn attention to the fact that Ukrainians fighting back with molotov cocktails against the Russian army are described as a "resistance” whereas Palestinians, for example, who do the same are called “terrorists.”
