Sudan
More than 10 million people are now internally displaced in Sudan as the country’s civil war continues, according to the UN migration agency. A staggering quarter of the population have fled their homes with two million sheltering in neighboring countries. “Imagine a city the size of London being displaced. That’s what it’s like, but it’s happening with the constant threat of crossfire, with famine, disease and brutal ethnic and gender-based violence,” International Organization for Migration Director-General Amy Pope said. The conflict erupted in April last year after relations between Sudan’s military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the leader of a powerful militia broke down.

They had promised to stop but it appears Kim Jong Un’s powerful sister Kim Yo Jong was angered by the South broadcasting propaganda into the North using loudspeakers. More than 300 balloons were sent over the border on Monday, South Korea’s military said.
