Israel-Palestine
A row has erupted in Israel after nine soldiers were detained accused of sexually abusing a Palestinian detainee. The Palestinian detainee - alleged to be a member of Hamas - is reported to have been so severely abused that injuries to his anus have left him unable to walk. The shadowy Sde Teiman base, where the alleged abuse took place, has for months been the subject of multiple media reports and statements from rights groups alleging that Palestinian prisoners have been tortured and abused while held there.
