DR Congo
A fuel truck has collided with a crowded passenger bus in the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing 33 people. The victims died in a “huge fire” caused by the crash, local police captain Antoine Pululu police told the Agence France Presse news agency. Road accidents with huge death tolls are unfortunately common in the DRC.

UK-Iran
The row caused by an attack on an Israeli-owned oil tanker off the coast of Oman continues and, in the latest salvo, Iran and the UK today summoned each other’s diplomats. Iran continues to deny any involvement in the attack, which killed two crew members from Britain and Romania. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Iran needed to "face up to the consequences of what they've done."

Ethiopia
Yet another horrible incident in what remains the world’s most underreported international news story - the war in Ethiopia’s Tigray region. About 50 bodies have been found floating in a river between Ethiopia and Sudan, apparently of people trying to flee the war. A local official told the Associated Press news agency that some of the bodies had their hands bound and that others appeared to have been shot.
